This is one of the most discussed subjects in windsurfing. There are three main factors in board size; Volume, width, and length.

Lengths generally have got shorter over the last few years and are 230cm - 260cm. This will directly effect how the board deals with the water conditions. Width has become more apparent as boards have got wider giving earlier plaining, and better board control. Designs have got wider at the tail again for board control, and volume.

We still believe volume is the key factor in board choice.

190Ltr - 160Ltr boards are beginner boards designed to guide you through starting to early plaining.

160Ltr - 130Ltr boards are for sailors intermediate upwards. They will plain early in light winds, but will get you back to the beach safely if the wind disappears with comfortable stability under foot.

130Ltr - 110Ltr boards are your introduction to short boards. They feel sharper and livelier to give the windsurfer a more thrilling ride.

110Ltr - 95Ltr boards are the cornerstone of crossover windsurfing. As much at home in the waves as freeriding, and also freestyle as well.

Sub 95Ltr boards are generraly designed for waves and are for advanced sailors as a whole.

When buying a board take into account your weight, the rigs weight, and your ability. We recommend that if your ability is lower than advanced, if you think you want a 100Ltr board - add 5 - 10 Ltrs for safety. You won't feel the difference that much when sailing but it could be vital if the wind drops off.
